Driver Usb 3.0 Acer Ao725

Brand: AcerModel: AH022SSN: LCEXH0AB3600Okay, I got an Acer 750Gb USB 3.0 portable hard drive for Christmas and I plugged it into one of the USB 3.0 ports on my desktop PC case. The device was being powered and I could hear it working away while my computer (running Windows 7 64bit) tried to installthe drivers for a Mass USB Device. The Install failed and I tried to reboot/restart with the drive plugged into each of the different USB 3.0 ports (the blue ones) but my computer still doesn't 'see' it. The only instance I can find of it is an unknown devicein the control panel with the model number and there is no option to update the drivers from there.Where can I get the drivers?

The Acer site doesn't carry drivers for this model so I'm stumped. Don't want to take it back until I know for sure I've done everything I can to get it working.

Note: If Control Panel is in Classic View, double-click System, and then click Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.3. In Device Manager, double click to expand 'Universal Serial Bus controllers', right click on the Host Controller, click 'Uninstall' and click 'OK'.Check if at all there is an exclamation mark along the driver, it suggests issues with the driver installed.4. Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under 'Universal Serial Bus controllers'.Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically. If you still face the same issue then you may check for the updated USB device drivers using windows update. Right click the USB controller then click 'Uninstall.' If Device Manager asks, click the option to delete the driver.5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all of the USB controllers.6. Restart your PC.After restarting, Windows 10 should automatically reinstall the device drivers for your USB ports. If that does not work, let me know; there are some more steps you can try.source. Hello RileyThank you for your reply.

I followed your instructions. When I expanded Universal Service Bus Controllers, there were three options:Intel(R) USB3.0 extensible host controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)USB Composite DeviceUSB Root Hub(USB3.0)I right-clicked the first one and uninstalled. I only had to do this once since when I uninstalled this, I could no longer see the 'folder' Universal Service Bus Controllers.Anyway, unfortunately, the USB3.0 port still does not read my USB2.0 flash drive (although it can read my USB3.0 portable hard drive. The USB2.0 port is still working.Regards,Bimby18. You said that you updated Windows 10, but does the PC have the latest version release? The latest version is the Fall Creators Update.

Try downloading the Windows Update Assistant from this page:If Windows is up to date, check the Dell website for a BIOS update for the PC:1. Enter the Service Tag for your PC.2. On the Product Support page, click 'Drivers & downloads.' Download the latest update for the system BIOS.4. Disconnect any external devices from your PC except for the power adapter.5.

Be sure the PC has at least 50% battery charge and is also charging with a power adapter.6. Run the system BIOS file that you downloaded from Dell.If a USB 2.0 flash drive still does not work: if you have access to another computer with USB 3.0 ports, try connecting the USB 2.0 flash drive to the other computer. If the USB 2.0 flash drive works with the other computer's USB 3.0 ports, you may need tocontact the repair center that replaced your motherboard. HiWindows 10 was updated using Windows Update Assist after the new motherboard and hard drive were installed. Nevertheless, I checked again today (using Windows Update Assist) and it confirmed I already have the latest. After updating Windows10, I did updatethe BIOS and all the drivers marked urgent and recommended. I have checked again via DELL Support Assist today and my laptop has the latest drivers.According to DELL, and I quote, 'there is a windows update that is causing the USB ports not to work'.

I was advised to do a system restore? I am confused since how can I do a system restore when it is essentially 'new'?In the meantime, I will try to get to another PC with a USB3.0 port and see if that can read my USB2.0.Many thanks again,Bimby18.
