Good afternoon to all, i have decided to buy either the black magic pocket cine camera or the canon 600d for filmmaking but i really don't know which one please let me ask some questions about the pocket cinema camera what is the max video duration i can shoot with an sdhcd card (32 gb) if class 6 for an sdchd card is sufficient for video some lenses recommendations for landscape and documentary video my only problem with bot the canon 600d and black magic pocket camera is that you cannot shoot long videos many thanks in advance. Granted you do need lenses, etc. With the BMPCC, but you'll obtain beautiful 10-bit imagery. And the new firmware lets you choose which flavor of ProRes you want: ProResHQ, ProRes 422, ProResLT or ProRes Proxy, so you can fit more on your memory card. ProRes which is 10-bit (no halos in sky or across graded backgrounds) and gives you beautiful video. And, of course, you can record RAW.
You have tremendous flexibility. But ProRes works great. I recently shot a series of interior interviews where we occasionally had windows in the backgrounds. The camera's latitude was amazing (we were shooting ProRes422) and we were able to hold exposure through the windows. And you may still be able to buy a BMPCC for $495.
That's a deal. I'm not familiar with Vegas 8, but DaVinci Resolve Lite is a free download. It will transcode RAW to other output formats.
